Terms and Conditions
Stockade Leather Last updated: 08/2026
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before placing an order. By using this website or purchasing from Stockade Leather, you agree to be bound by them.
Acceptance of Terms
These Terms & Conditions apply to all purchases made through stockadeleather.com.au, or in person at our workshop. By placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms, as well as our Privacy Policy.
Pricing
All prices listed on our website are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable. We reserve the right to change prices at any time without notice; the price charged will be the price displayed at the time your order is placed. Shipping costs are calculated separately, as outlined below.
Payments
- We accept Visa, MasterCard credit cards or PayPal. You don’t need to have a PayPal account to pay by credit card via our PayPal gateway. PayPal functions as a secure payment gateway. Just click the checkout button and follow directions.
- Australian bank account holders can also choose the Direct Deposit option.
- For Australian customers, we accept cheques and money orders drawn in Australian dollars on an Australian bank. Those orders, however, will only be shipped when payment has been cleared at our bank.
- Collect your purchase from our shop where we accept cash or credit/debit cards.
Custom, Made-to-Order & Bespoke Commissions
Many of our products are made to order or produced as bespoke commissions to your specification.
- For made-to-order retail items, estimated production and delivery times are stated on the product listing.
- For bespoke interiors commissions (furniture, architectural leather applications, and similar projects), work proceeds on a quoted, project basis. A deposit may be required before work begins, with the balance payable on completion or as otherwise agreed in writing.
- Specifications (sizing, colour, engraving text, hardware, materials) are confirmed with you prior to production. Please check these details carefully — production begins only once specifications are agreed.
- Bespoke and custom commissions cannot be cancelled once production has commenced, except where the item is faulty (see Refunds and Returns below).
Wholesale & Trade Accounts
Wholesale and trade account customers operate under separate account terms agreed directly with Stockade Leather, including any pricing, minimum order, and payment terms specific to that account. Where trade terms conflict with these general Terms & Conditions, the agreed trade terms take precedence for that account.
Shipping
- Please allow 2-3 working days processing time for orders to ship.
- Items listed as “made to order” have their estimated delivery time clearly stated in the items details.
- We normally use Australia Post standard service, but can use Express service at extra cost.
- All overseas shipments are sent by airmail.
- Shipping costs are based on weight and are charged at cost.
- All items are shipped direct from our premises.
- Risk in the goods, including risk of loss or damage in transit, passes to you once the item is handed to the carrier, except where the goods are faulty.
Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010) or any other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law, including that they are of acceptable quality and fit for the purpose for which they are sold. Our refund and returns policy below operates in addition to, and does not limit, these rights.
Refunds and Returns
We stand by our products and will exchange, refund, repair or credit any faulty item.
When you receive your purchase, please examine it carefully. If you are not satisfied with your order, contact us immediately by contacting us or by phoning us on +61 3 9532 8961 with your complaint. We will then issue a return authority code. When you receive the return authority, you must return the package within 30 days to our business at this address:
STOCKADE LEATHER 552 Glen Huntly Road Elsternwick, Victoria, 3185 Australia
All products deemed faulty must be returned accompanied by the appropriate documentation. Please include a note with relevant instructions, i.e. size, colour or model if the item is to be exchanged.
Please note:
- It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the item is returned in a safe and secure manner. If you want to ensure the delivery, we advise to register the package for added security as we cannot be held responsible for items lost in the mail.
- We do not accept any returns on custom made goods unless they are faulty.
- Shipping and handling costs are not refundable.
Out of Stock / Backorder Policy
We usually stock standard items or produce them on the next work day. Occasionally, unforeseen delays can occur. If this happens we will contact you and advise you of a new delivery date. You then have the option to ask for a full refund of your payment.
Product Care
Leather is a natural material and will vary slightly in grain, colour, and texture between pieces — this is a feature of genuine leather, not a fault. Care instructions are provided with each product; we recommend following these to preserve the quality and lifespan of your item. Wear resulting from normal use, or damage resulting from failure to follow care instructions, is not considered a fault.
Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including product photography, workshop imagery, written content, logos, and brand assets — is owned by Stockade Leather and may not be reproduced, copied, or used without our prior written permission.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stockade Leather’s liability for any claim arising from your purchase is limited to the replacement, repair, or refund of the relevant product. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, our products or website. This clause does not limit any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Privacy
Your personal information is collected and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version posted on this page at the time of your order will apply to that order.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms or your purchase are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
